Whitworth is a beautiful linear village nestling within the foothills of the Pennines, at the southerly end of the Rossendale valley, 3 miles north of Rochdale and only 30 minutes from Manchester. Surrounded on both sides by the rugged and natural landscape, The Riverside is a fantastic new building, replacing the old wooden Civic Hall, which was destroyed by fire in 2003.
This £1.3m facility has everything you need to make your celebration special.
The Mayoral Chamber will accomodate up to 80 people for your wedding or childs naming ceremony. The main hall encompassing a full stage will seat up to 200 for a dinner dance and 250 guests for an evening function. Within it a full sound and lighting system will ensure that any specific needs can be catered for. There is also the Festival Lounge which holds 60 people, in a more relaxed setting. The Broadley Room, a Bride's retreat will ensure that there is somewhere to freshen up, take a break, and offer a little sanctuary during your special day.
There is a playpark for the young ones and beautiful gardens nearby for your memorable wedding photos. Everything has been put in place to ensure that your special celebration runs smoothly.
