Chamber runs TIF survey

Date published: 03/11/2008

The Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce has launched an online survey on the region's Transport Innovation Fund and congestion charge proposals.

The propsals, which could affect businesses across Rochdale, were finalised at a meeting of the Association of Greater Manchester Authorities on Friday morning (31 October).

Chamber Chief Executive Angie Robinson said: "This is an absolutely crucial issue for Greater Manchester and it is important that as a member of the Chamber your views are heard. I would therefore be grateful if our members could take the short time needed to complete the electronic survey."

The Chamber will only be able to accept one response per member company and feedback must be received by 14 November.

Please note that the survey is only open to companies that are members of the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce.

The proposals will be voted on by the residents of Greater Manchester in a December referendum.

Over the summer the Chamber held a series of events looking at the proposals, which were attended by more than 400 members. Representatives from both of the leading campaign groups also attended. In addition, the Chamber has been collating feedback from members as part of an ongoing process and these views have now been fed to GMPTE as part of the official consultation.

Details of the proposals can be found at www.gmfuturetransport.co.uk or you can visit the Chamber website at www.gmchamber.co.uk
